Mad River Brewery, a women-led Independent Craft Brewery located in Humboldt County, California has been brewing best-quality beers for more than three decades. MRB employs a time-honored, cut-no-corners approach to hand-crafting the finest quality ales, receiving  the most prestigious awards in the industry. Celebrating their 35^th anniversary this year, the tribally owned craft brewery is recognized globally for award-winning ales such as their flagship Steelhead Extra Pale Ale, and their Jamaica Red Ale. The brewery’s portfolio of craft beverages includes new and reinvented products that highlight important endeavors, setting a standard for environmental and social responsibility in the industry.

Mad River Brewery is now the leading tribal craft beer in the world of professional sports. Announced in February 2022, Mad River Brewery became official partners of the San Francisco Giants as the first tribal beer in the MLB. In June of the same year, Mad River Brewery formed a partnership with the San Jose Barracuda, also marking history as the first tribal brewery partnership in the AHL. Recognized across Northern California and beyond, these partnerships mark a new chapter in the world of sports, where the tokenization of Indigenous Peoples has long been a problem.

Strengthening  intertribal commerce while developing new products that showcase the brewery’s dedication to craft, Mad River Brewery is trailblazing the path where these dreams come together.  Partnering with the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska to source regeneratively-grown, Mad River Brewery has released the latest in a lineup of quality craft beers, Maize Goddess Indigenous Ale.  Also on the forefront is a plan to expand brewing operations, re-establish a larger distribution footprint on the West Coast, and develop impactful partnerships that echo support for Indigenous visibility. Mad River Brewery is leaning into channels that strengthen tribal economics and ultimately, tribal sovereignty.
